Strength of the Lord: The strength of the house lord (based on its sign placement – own sign, exaltation, debilitation, friendly/inimical sign) determines how effectively it can manage the affairs of the house it rules.⁹ A strong lord in a favorable house (like a Kendra or Trikona) enhances the positive indications of the house it rules.⁹ Conversely, a weak or afflicted lord, especially if placed in a Dusthana (6th, 8th, 12th), can bring challenges related to the house it rules.⁹ For example, a strong 9th lord (fortune) well-placed promises luck and support from father/gurus, while a weak 9th lord in the 8th house might indicate obstacles to fortune or challenges related to father.⁹
